The House Of Staunton Mammoth Ivory & Ebony Collector Series Signature Chess set is crafted in the original Staunton pattern, registered by Nathaniel Cooke and produced by Jaques of London in 1849.
The white army is made from 40,000-year old Woolly Mammoth Ivory, while the black army is crafted from Genuine Ebony. Each set includes a 4.4" King with a 2.0" diameter base, and the pieces are hand carved by master artisans. The natural weight of Mammoth Ivory gives the pieces an excellent feel without artificial weighting.
This new chess set consists of 34 chessmen, including four Queens, a standard introduced by The House Of Staunton in 1993. It also comes with a personalized Certificate of Authenticity and an original manufacturer's label with adhesive backing for placement on the underside of a chess box.
