The Modena Series Luxury Chess Pieces from The House of Staunton are a full club-sized chess set designed for practical play and a refined display.
Each set features a 4.4" King with a 2.0" diameter base. The chess pieces are hand carved by master artisans, crafted out of the highest grade woods, heavily weighted, and finished with luxurious billiard cloth base pads and a beautiful finish.
Every new set consists of 34 Chessmen, including four Queens, a standard introduced by The House of Staunton in 1993. The set also includes an Individually Numbered Certificate of Authenticity and an original manufacturer's plaque with adhesive backing for affixing to the underside of a chess box.
