The Reykjavik II Series Chess Pieces are a faithful reproduction of one of the most historically important chess sets ever produced, based on the set used in the legendary 1972 World Chess Championship between Robert J. Fischer (USA) and Boris Spassky (RUS).
This full tournament-sized set features a 3.75" King with a 1.6" diameter base. The chess pieces are hand carved by master artisans, crafted from the highest grade woods, heavily weighted, and finished with luxurious billiard cloth base pads.
Designed for practical play, the set emphasizes durability with reinforced Pawn collars and oversized Rook ramparts. It is new and includes 34 Chessmen, with four Queens, a standard introduced by The House of Staunton in 1993.
