The Reykjavik II Series Chess Set, Box, and Board Combination is an exact reproduction of the chess set used in the legendary 1972 World Chess Championship between Robert J. Fischer and Boris Spassky.
This full tournament-sized set includes 34 chessmen, including four Queens. The King stands 3.75" tall with a 1.6" diameter base. The chess pieces are hand carved from the highest grade woods, heavily weighted, finished beautifully, and fitted with luxurious billiard cloth base pads. The design also features reinforced Pawn collars and oversized Rook ramparts for durability.
The board is the Standard Traditional Striped Ebony / Bird's Eye Maple wooden Chessboard with 2.25" squares. It features Striped Ebony dark squares, Bird's Eye Maple light squares, a Coffeewood delimiter, a Striped Ebony frame, a 0.5" thickness, a satin finish, and a beautiful moulded edge. The Premium Chess Box is lined in green billiard cloth, divided, and includes brass quadrant hinges and a lock & key; it comes with or without the House of Staunton logo laser etched on the lid.
