The Savano Series Artisan Wood Chess Pieces are a masterfully crafted chessmen set from The House Of Staunton, featuring a 4.4" King with a 1.8" Diameter base and very heavy weighting.
Each piece is hand carved by master artisans and crafted out of the highest grade woods. The set includes House of Staunton English Leather basepads on the King and luxurious billiard cloth base pads on the other chess pieces, along with a beautiful finish.
This new set consists of 34 Chessmen, including four Queens, a standard introduced by The House of Staunton in 1993. It also comes with two king's finials (crosses): the Eastern Teardrop Finial and the Traditional Cross Finial, plus an Individually Numbered Certificate of Authenticity and an original manufacturer's plaque with adhesive backing.
