The Strand Series Timeless Chess Pieces are an exact reproduction of the Circa 1820 Grand Cigar Divan Pre-Staunton Pattern Chessmen, recreated with exceptional accuracy in a 4.4" King size.
Each set is hand carved by master artisans from the highest grade woods and finished with heavily weighted construction, luxurious billiard cloth base pads, and a beautiful patina on the Boxwood (White) Chessmen.
This set includes 34 Chessmen total: 17 light and 17 dark, including four Queens. It also comes with an Individually Numbered Certificate of Authenticity and an original manufacturer's plaque with adhesive backing for the underside of a Chess box.
