The Sultan Series Luxury Chess Pieces are heirloom-quality chessmen from The House of Staunton, designed for players who value beauty and practical play in one set.
This set features a 4.4" King with a 2.0" diameter base and a heavily weighted build. Each chess piece is hand carved by master artisans and crafted out of the highest grade woods, with a beautiful finish. The Kings have gold embossed English Leather base pads, while the other chess pieces use luxurious billiard cloth base pads.
Each set is new and includes 34 Chessmen, including four Queens, a standard introduced by The House of Staunton in 1993. The set also comes with an Individually Numbered Certificate of Authenticity and an original manufacturer's plaque with adhesive backing for placement on the underside of a chess box.
