The Vigilant Series Luxury Chess Pieces from The House Of Staunton are full tournament-sized chess pieces designed for practical play and display.
Each set features a 4" King with a 1.7" diameter base. The pieces are hand carved by master artisans and crafted from the highest grade woods. They are heavily weighted, with gold embossed English Leather base pads under the Kings, luxurious billiard cloth base pads on the other chess pieces, and a beautiful finish.
Every new set includes 34 chessmen, including four Queens, a standard introduced by The House of Staunton in 1993. The set also comes with an Individually Numbered Certificate of Authenticity and an original manufacturer's plaque with adhesive backing for placement on the underside of a chess box.
