The Waterford Series Artisan Chess Pieces are a premium set of hand-carved chessmen from The House of Staunton, featuring a 4.4" King with a 2.0" diameter base. Each piece is crafted from the highest grade woods and designed with a beautiful finish.
These chess pieces are very heavily weighted for practical play. The King includes House of Staunton English Leather basepads, while the other chess pieces feature luxurious billiard cloth base pads.
Each new set consists of 34 chessmen, including four Queens, a standard introduced by The House of Staunton in 1993. The set also includes an Individually Numbered Certificate of Authenticity and an original manufacturer's plaque with adhesive backing for placement on the underside of a chess box.
