The World Chess Championship, 2nd Edition from Ishi Press presents the official history of the world title from its inauguration with the 1948 tournament.
It covers the ten matches between champion and challenger that took place from 1948 through Bobby Fischer’s 1972 victory, involving only seven players: Botvinnik, Bronstein, Smyslov, Tal, Petrosian, Spassky, and Fischer. Of these, all but Bronstein won the championship.
