A detailed Shotokan karate book featuring Master Teruyuki Okazaki’s life and career in his own words. He was born June 22, 1931 to a samurai family in Fukuoka, Japan, studied Aikido, Judo, and Kendo, and began karate training in 1947.
The book follows his time with the Japan Karate Association, where he studied under Grand Master Gichin Funakoshi and Master Masatoshi Nakayama, helped form the JKA Instructor Training Program in 1953, and later taught at Boei University, Takushoku University, and Tokyo Toritsu University. It also covers his move to the United States in 1961, the founding of the East Coast Shotokan Karate Association in 1963, and the International Shotokan Karate Federation in 1977. The book is 6 x 9 and 192 pages.
