The House of Staunton Zagreb '59 Elite Series Chess Set is a full tournament-sized chess set with a 3.875" King and a 1.75" diameter base.
These chess pieces are hand carved by master artisans and crafted out of the highest grade woods. They are heavily weighted, finished with luxurious billiard cloth base pads, and feature a glossy finish that helps accentuate the details. The Zagreb '59 design is an adaptation of the most popular chess set used at major international chess tournaments throughout the 1950s and 1960s, most notably the World Championship Candidates Match held in Bied, Zagreb in 1959.
This imperfect item has inspection report defects: many of the pieces have been replaced and do not 100% match the rest of the set, one Ebonized Boxwood Queen is missing its finial, one Golden Rosewood Bishop is missing its finial, and some finials on the Ebonized Boxwood pieces are Natural Boxwood instead of Golden Rosewood. There may be other minor imperfections not pictured. Because this is an imperfect item, all sales are final.
