Improper drive belt tension can lead to a broken motor shaft.
When replacing your motor and or drive belt, it is important to properly adjust the drive belt tension. A new drive belt should be tensioned to 100-120 Pounds or 45-54 Kilograms. Without the use of a drive belt tension gauge, it is advisable to loosen the drive belt completely and tension it in small increments until it does not slip.
