Chess Studies And Endgames is a classic collection of endgame studies originally published by Horwitz & Kling in 1851. It brings together endgames of all types and highlights compositions that uncovered previously unknown truths about both simple and complex endgames.
After Kling’s passing, Horwitz prepared a manuscript for a new expanded edition, which was later published in 1889 through William Wayte’s efforts. In this edition, all compositions and analysis have been thoroughly reanalyzed by FIDE Master Carsten Hansen.
