Chess Survivor – Hardcover is a published chess book from The House Of Staunton featuring Andor Lilienthal’s life story and his annotated best games.
When FIDE introduced the grandmaster title in 1950, Andor Lilienthal was one of the 27 original grandmasters. Douglas Griffin translated the book from Russian and added 17 games to the 60 Lilienthal annotated himself.
Lilienthal met or played all the World Champions of the 20th century, and even scored a win against Lasker. His most famous victory is his 1935 win against Capablanca.
