The Burnt Golden Rosewood Reykjavik II Series Chess Set, Box, & Satin Board Combination is a faithful reproduction of the historic chess set used in the 1972 World Chess Championship between Robert J. Fischer and Boris Spassky.
This full tournament-sized set features a 3.75" King with a 1.6" diameter base. The hand-carved chessmen are crafted from the highest grade boxwood, heavily weighted, finished with luxurious billiard cloth base pads, and given a glossy finish to accentuate the details. The set includes 34 chessmen, including four Queens. Reinforced Pawn collars and oversized Rook ramparts add durability for years of practical play.
The board is crafted in Spain and features Blackwood (dark) and Olivewood (light) squares with a Blackwood frame. This veneered chess board is 0.5" thick and has a satin finish.
