The House Of Staunton Zagreb '59 Series Chess Set combination brings together a full tournament-sized chess set, a premium chess box, and a satin-finish wooden board.
The chessmen feature a 3.875" King with a 1.75" diameter base, are hand carved from the highest grade woods, heavily weighted, and finished with billiard cloth base pads and a glossy finish. Each set includes 34 chessmen, including four Queens. The design also includes reinforced Pawn collars, stylized Knights, minimal Queen crenellations, and both removable King finials: the ball finial and the Formée cross.
The board is crafted in Spain and features Blackwood (dark) and Olivewood (light) squares with a Blackwood frame. It is veneered, 0.5" thick, and finished in satin. The Premium Chess Box is lined in green billiard cloth, divided, and fitted with brass quadrant hinges and a lock & key. The lid is laser engraved with the House of Staunton logo.
