The Burnt Zagreb '59 Series Chess Pieces are a full tournament-sized chess set inspired by one of the most popular sets used in major international chess tournaments during the 1950s and 1960s.
This set features a 3.875" King with a 1.75" diameter base. The chessmen are hand carved by master artisans, crafted from the highest grade woods, heavily weighted, finished with luxurious billiard cloth base pads, and given a glossy finish to highlight the details.
Designed for practical play, the set includes reinforced Pawn collars, stylized Knights, and minimal Queen crenellations for durability. It also comes with both removable King finial styles: the ball finial (cross) and the more recognizable Formée cross.
