The Classic Chess Set is a handcrafted and hand-finished wood chess set imported from Europe, made from the finest hornbeam natural and stained wood. Its design is based on the traditional Staunton pattern chess set.
In keeping with its European heritage, the King, Queen, and Bishop pieces feature crowns made of the opposing wood type for a striking color contrast. The complimentary chess board has a rich lacquered finish, traditional rank and file labels around the perimeter, and folds in half for easy storage.
Inside the board are individual compartments for storing each chess piece when not in use, providing the highest level of protection. All European Collection Chess Sets are made from renewable plantation wood, making them eco friendly.
