The Hastings Chess Set, Box, & Board Combination from The House of Staunton brings together heirloom-quality chessmen, a premium wooden board, and a fitted storage box in one complete set.
The Hastings Series pieces feature a 4.0" King with a 1.8" diameter base and are heavily weighted. Each set includes 34 Chessmen, including four Queens. The pieces are hand carved by master artisans from the highest grade woods, with gold embossed English Leather base pads under the Kings and luxurious billiard cloth base pads on the other pieces.
The included board is crafted in Spain and measures 0.5" thick with 2.5" squares. It features Elm Burl (dark) and Bird's Eye Maple (light) squares, an Elm Burl frame, a satin finish, and a beautiful moulded edge. The Premium Chess Box is lined in green billiard cloth, divided, and finished with brass quadrant hinges plus a lock & key.
