The Anderssen Dropjaw Series Luxury Chess Pieces are a reproduction of the Circa 1854 Anderssen Dropjaw Pattern Chessmen. This set features a 3" King with a 1.4" diameter base and a very heavily weighted build.
Each set is hand carved by master artisans and crafted from the highest grade genuine ebony and natural boxwoods. The Kings feature English Leather Embossed with Frank Camaratta Signature™, and the other chess pieces have luxurious billiard cloth base pads and a beautiful finish.
The Anderssen Dropjaw Pattern captures the form, board presence, and craftsmanship of one of the earliest Staunton Patterns from Jaques of London. It is designed for practical play while maintaining the elegance associated with a House of Staunton chess set. The set is new and includes 34 Chessmen, including four Queens, a standard introduced by The House of Staunton in 1993.
