A mysterious masked assailant, known in the film as the "Red Dress Man," targets members of Uncle Shen Pei's martial arts school one by one and promises to reveal his true identity only after killing 10 students. The story includes plenty of red herrings, a striking two-faced red mask, and the phony-looking deadly projectile called the Red Phoenix.
The fight scenes blend hand-to-hand combat, footwork, acrobatics, and some wirework, with all of the action taking place outdoors in wide-open spaces.
