The Grandmaster Ip Man DVD follows the life of Wing Chun grandmaster Ip Man, from his early years in Foshan in the 1930s to his flight to Hong Kong after the Second Sino-Japanese War and the events leading to his death.
The story opens with Ip Man reflecting on martial arts, then moves into a rain-soaked fight against a dozen combatants. The film also traces his early training at age seven, his induction into martial arts by master Chan Wah-shun, and his marriage to Cheung Wing-sing. Starring Tony Leung, Zhang Ziyi, and Hye-kyo.
