The Fischer-Spassky Series Chess Set, Box, & Board Combination is an exact reproduction of the chess set used in the legendary 1972 World Chess Championship between Robert J. (Bobby) Fischer and Boris Spassky.
This full tournament-sized set features a 6.0" King with a 2.25" diameter base. The chessmen are hand carved by master artisans from the highest grade woods, heavily weighted, finished with luxurious billiard cloth base pads, and given a glossy finish to accentuate the details. Each set includes 34 chessmen, including four Queens.
The set is designed for practical play and durability, with reinforced Pawn collars and oversized Rook ramparts. For the board, the House of Staunton Standard Traditional Striped Ebony / Bird's Eye Maple wooden Chessboard is crafted in Spain, measures 0.5" thick, and has a satin finish with a beautiful moulded edge. The Large Premium Chess Box is designed specifically for Chessmen with a King Height of 6.0'' or greater. It features two large compartments lined in green billiard cloth, brass quadrant hinges, and a lock & key.
