The Savano Artisan Series Chessmen are a luxury wood chess set designed for practical play and display. This combination includes the chessmen, a wooden chessboard, and a fitted chess box.
The Chessmen feature a 4.4" King with a 2.0" Diameter base and are very heavily weighted. They are hand carved by master artisans, crafted out of the highest grade woods, and finished with House of Staunton English Leather basepads on the King and luxurious billiard cloth base pads on the other Chess pieces.
Crafted in Spain, the Superior Traditional Elm Burl / Bird's Eye Maple wooden Chessboard features Elm Burl (dark) and Bird's Eye Maple (light) squares with an Elm Burl frame. It is veneered, 0.5" thick, and has a satin finish with a beautiful moulded edge. For storage, the House of Staunton Fitted Coffer provides individual compartments, brass quadrant hinges, two removable trays, and a lock and key with tassel.
